How daft can the choice of sticks be in golf ?
Hi,
I am not really a serious golfer, but have played many a time for a bit of fun
Thing is that probably I don't understand fully the vast array of clubs & irons and wedges etc that folks carry around.
Last time I played in a foursome, I just decided to carry a two iron and a ball.
Oh, and a hip flask.
No worries, it may not of been a big hitter off the tees, but it made up for it in accuracy, and turned around, a decent putter.
So a little above par with only one stick over the shoulder for the whole round
I am hopeless at golf, and have been out into the trees many a time, but it can be done with one stick.
Any advice ?

There are some people that are more comfortable with all 14 clubs in the bag- they know that whatever situation arises, they're covered. Some people prefer the unconventional method... they've even had 3-club and 1-club tournaments.
If you prefer to go with less, the walk will be easier. The concentration will be keener. Not having all 14 clubs will put a premium on course strategy and shot making.
I prefer to have all 14 clubs, but the chance to go out with just a few of them and really learn to get yourself out of particular situations with different (sometimes, unconventional) options is refreshing, and enhances the experience when all 14 are back in the bag.
