I recently starting playing golf and I bought a set of clubs from a local sportng goods store. I joined my school's golf team and the coach told me that for my height the putter that came with my set is too short. For a beginning golfer who's 5'7" what would be a good putter for me to buy?
How much do you want to spend? If you have ambition to play for many years, spending 100 bucks or more on a putter is a wise investment. As with all other equipment, technology makes a world of difference. So, with that said, buy Odyssey. Hands down. Its an off shoot from Callaway, and I have used them my entire golfing career. They are an amazing company, and you might be able to find some used ones as well. Do not go over 35 inches, however. You need to be standing as straight up as possible. Your eyes directly over the ball. A better putter will make more putts, for sure.
